May 31st – Monday, Memorial Day, 9am-5pm EST.
The Operation Thank A Vet ministry of Blessed Hope Baptist Church, Jasonville Indiana is planning a ministry event on Memorial Day weekend at the Washington DC Mall May 29th and 31st of 2010. We welcome participants from churches of like faith to participate in this special ministry event. Our goal is to contact as many veterans as possible at and around the many various war memorials in the area, personally thanking them for their service to our nation. Special gift booklets containing an excellent Gospel presentation will be provided to hand out to as many that will receive them and personal soul winning is encouraged.
Please pray and ask God to bless this ministry event.
To Aid us in management of this endeavor, please register with us so we have an idea of a number of participants. Donations are welcome though PayPal and USPS to help cover the cost of the printed materials and logistics. We also would like for folks participating to purchase and wear a special designed polo shirt available in colors red or blue with the Operation-Thank-A-Vet logo embroidered. We all need to look neat, clean and sharp.

Some guidelines that need to be followed: Be very courteous to all visitors in the mall. Obey all the park police and any other authority there. Be sensitive to those that are remembering and morning loved ones killed or missing in action. Others may be distraught, feeling abandoned or unappreciated by their government and citizens of the nation they served. Many that will be there will be emotional as they see their friends and family names on the wall. Be compassionate, love them, sow seed and do as much as the Lord allows in dealing with folks visiting there. We do appreciate them and are grateful for their service defending our liberty and we need to tell them so!
